“Patriots in the Park promises to be a wonderful, signature event for Broken Arrow that is sure to be exciting for the entire family,” said Mayor Craig Thurmond. “This will be a tremendous extravaganza in Broken Arrow, for Broken Arrow and by Broken Arrow.”

The Mayor also acknowledged the almost 20 year Broken Arrow tradition that was Rockets Over Rhema. “I, as well as the rest of the City Council and administration, wholeheartedly appreciate Rhema for hosting the beloved ‘Rockets Over Rhema’ for so long,” Thurmond said. “I respect the difficult business decision Rhema was faced with after last year’s event but am excited to see everything the new celebration will have to offer.”

Patriots in the Park was born after City leaders learned the fate of Rockets Over Rhema and knew residents wanted a suitable replacement Independence Day celebration. The City made that happen with the help of Adroit Event Solutions.

The City chose to partner with Adroit due to the company’s success with large events. Adroit also organizes the annual ScotFest, which moved to Broken Arrow’s Events Park in September 2018 and attracted between 25,000-30,000 people.

“This is a wonderful partnership between the City and Adroit,” Thurmond said. “With all the City has invested in a great event site at the Events Park, it’s exciting to be able to promote signature community events at this location.”
