This event will provide Broken Arrow unprecedented positive exposure Showtime will do video before the date of the event featuring the Rose District. That footage will be shown during the televised portion of the event. The event has already generated a significant amount of press, not only locally but has regionally. There will be another press conference associated with the weigh-in on August 22nd.
While the event is planning to sell around 1,000 tickets, the attendance in the Rose District is expected to be much larger bringing in people to the shops and restaurants around the regional Tulsa area to experience the event.
“This event has more of a Superbowl atmosphere to it and we are encouraging people to come down and be a part of the event even if they don’t have tickets. Restaurants in the Rose District will be open and televising the event”, stated Brent Brassfiled, Business Retention and Expansion Coordinator in the Economic Development Department with the City of Broken Arrow.
Since Broken Arrow relies heavily on sales tax, it is events like these that are huge for the community and it is a great opportunity to showcase Broken Arrow as a shopping and dining destination. Ticket sales registrants are local, out of the state and even outside of the country.
“This event will highlight Broken Arrow on a national and international scale. We simply can’t buy that kind of exposure. The broadcast gives us a chance to introduce the benefits of business location to an entirely new audience that may have never heard of our community”, stated the Vice President of Economic Development Darla Heller.
An event of this magnitude brings a kind of attention to this community that you simply can can’t pay for. Our Economic Development Corporation strives to create wealth, jobs and economic growth for the community and getting Broken Arrow on people’s radar is the first step to that. “We know this event will highlight to the world one of Broken Arrow’s greatest assets, our wonderful quality of life, as displayed in the Rose District. We will show to the world that we are a fantastic place to live, work and play. It will be interesting to watch the increased traffic on the website and Google statistics during this event. The Chamber and EDC believe in the long-range impact this event will have on our community and we are proud to help support and sponsor this event.
